Let's Stay in Touch Online!

Visit Fortenberry.house.gov for ‘News you can use’

In the past several weeks, thousands of you have shared with me your thoughts on the most pressing issues before our nation.  This dialogue, focused mostly on health care, has taken place in various forms -- town hall meetings, telephone town halls, letters, emails, and phone calls.  I appreciate these various opportunities to communicate directly with you.

While Congress moves ahead with a busy legislative agenda, and much of the attention of the health care debate shifts to the U.S. Senate, I want to stay connected with you and your friends and family.  My website, Fortenberry.house.gov, has recently been updated, and I invite you to explore its new features.

You will find numerous ways to review my work and access the resources of my office. You can watch video of recent speeches and hearings, and review public statements, speeches, and press releases. Other new options allow you to:

  • Link to my Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube pages for even more real-time communication
  • Sign up for the “Fort Report,” an email newsletter on current issues
  • Search the website by keyword on an issue important to you
  • See how I voted on all bills before the House of Representatives
  • View legislation I’ve sponsored and cosponsored
  • Find information on all the counties and communities in the First District
  • Learn about federal grants and contracts, the military academy nomination process, interesting opportunities for tours when visiting Washington, internship opportunities in my office, the congressional arts competition, and more

It is notable that so many Nebraskans actively participate in the democratic process, engaging government or public officials in a constructive manner.  Such dialogue can strengthen civil society and improve the policymaking process. As the policy debates on health care, energy, and other critical matters move forward in Washington in the coming weeks, I hope to continue our dialogue using the newest technologies.

Please take a minute to review Fortenberry.house.gov.  I hope you’ll find it an easy way to follow our work, communicate directly with my office if you like, and gather information on matters related to the federal government.  Thank you for your interest, and please stay in touch.

Sincerely,

Congressman Jeff Fortenberry
