House Appropriations Committee

The work of the House Appropriations Committee affects the lives of every American. The committee appropriates all the expenditures made by the United States government.

Agriculture Subcommittee

The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture handles issues regarding the Department of Agriculture, Farm Credit Administration, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and Food and Drug Administration. Agriculture's benefits to our nation go far beyond food security; it stabilizes and strengthens our economy, increases our energy independence, and builds new opportunities in rural America. It is critical that our farm policies and programs fairly and efficiently serve America's farm and ranch families and the Americans who depend on them.

Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee

The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military Construction and Veterans Affairs provides funding for the construction and improvement of facilities used by active and reserve military worldwide, including military family housing and homeowner's assistance. The subcommittee also handles issues with the Department of Veterans Affairs, including veterans' medical services.

Legislative Branch Subcommittee

The House Appropriations Legislative Branch Subcommittee is responsible for annual funding of the offices of Members of the U.S. Congress, Capitol operations and maintenance, and services for Capitol visitors. The subcommittee also has jurisdiction over the many support agencies of Congress, including the Library of Congress, the Congressional Budget Office, and the Government Accountability Office.
