Fortenberry: ‘No Time to Tinker with the Status Quo’

Washington, D.C. -- Congressman Jeff Fortenberry issued the following statement prior to the President's Joint Address to Congress this evening:

"Tinkering with the status quo will not restore America's economic strength. We need a new playbook. It's fourth and long — no time to run up the middle.

"The President should lead by proposing complete tax reform for economic growth, stopping regulatory excess, and empowering small business entrepreneurs. Strong local economies will rebuild this nation. It's time to return to our basic economic foundations."
