Reflections on the 10th Anniversary of 9-11

On Tuesday morning, September 11, 2001, our world changed.  Four craven acts stole nearly 3,000 Americans from us, and violently shook our security and national confidence.

Ten years later, through deeds both remarkable and ordinary, our nation still stands resolute and proud.  Through our mourning, the sweat of rebuilding, and the toil of watchful vigilance, we've remained committed to securing country, family, and community.   This is the extraordinary character of America, which not even the deep wound of national tragedy could scar.

As a nation, as we mark the decade that has passed, we grieve for the souls lost that day, continue to carry their families through their sorrow, and pray for all those who serve and have served to protect America, in which the blessings of liberty endure.  We do all these things in the hopes of a more peaceful world.
