Fort Report: August in Nebraska
I held eight town hall meetings over the last couple of weeks in communities across Nebraska’s First District. Hundreds of constituents participated in constructive discussions focused largely on the nation’s debt and economy in Lincoln, Norfolk, Fremont, Oakland, Blair, Plattsmouth, and Nebraska City. I thought you might be interested in viewing a portion of one of these meetings.
The following clip from Blair shows a brief overview of America’s budget situation - how our spending is allocated and how spending levels have grown over time. Please click here to view the video.

Our nation faces critical challenges. It must set a responsible course on spending and budgeting. While Nebraskans have different ideas about how to best address our debt and improve the economy, everyone agrees that moving forward will require courage, creativity, and a willingness to act.
Town hall meetings are a valuable way for me to hear directly from you. I thank all who attended for sharing your thoughts in a civil and constructive manner. As engaged citizens, your continued input and encouragement is critical for those in Washington as we work together to address the needs of our country.
