Fortenberry Speaks on U.S. - Mexico - Canada Trade Agreement
(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE) today issued the following statement on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA):
“This reformed and renegotiated trade deal with Canada and Mexico appears to move us in the right direction,” Fortenberry said. “Trade has to be fair or it will not be entirely free.”
“The agreed-upon deal will help strengthen our domestic automobile production and improve wages and working conditions in automobile factories, while improving the export outlook for Nebraska farmers, among other important changes,” Fortenberry added. “I look forward to ratifying this bill into legislation.”
Congressman Jeff Fortenberry is a Member of the House Appropriations Committee and Chairman of its Subcommittee on the Legislative Branch.
