Fortenberry Statement on Passage of the Farm Bill
(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE) made the following statement yesterday on the passage of the Farm Bill:
“The just-passed Farm Bill is important for Nebraska and America. It is one of the most significant pieces of legislation that we work on in Congress. It provides risk-management tools for Nebraska’s farmers and ranchers and food security to millions of Americans through its nutrition programs,” Fortenberry said. “The new Farm Bill also fosters conservation practices that enhance soil protection and wildlife habitat. And it ensures that America continues to lead the world in agricultural innovation, food safety, and renewable fuels, while enhancing opportunity for beginning farmers and local growers,” Fortenberry said.
Congressman Jeff Fortenberry is a member of the House Appropriations Committee and is sponsor of the Rural Health Insurance Act.
