Fortenberry Statement on the Passing of Native American Advocate Frank LaMere
(Lincoln, NE) – Congressman Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE) made the following statement today on the death of Native American advocate Frank LaMere.
“I am saddened by the loss of our friend Frank LaMere. His passion for Native American issues, his love of politics, and his desire to help those most in need showed through in his extraordinary life,” Fortenberry said.
“Frank was a frequent visitor to Washington, but I last saw Frank at Nebraska Wesleyan’s graduation, where Frank received a special honor. Even though it was his day, Frank sought me out afterwards because of his desire to be in solidarity and friendship,” Fortenbery added.
