Fortenberry Sworn into 112th Congress

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congressman Jeff Fortenberry was today sworn into the 112th Congress. This is his fourth term representing the First District of Nebraska in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Fortenberry released the following statement:
"I am truly honored today to be part of this historic new Congress. One of the hallmarks of America is that we transfer power peacefully, and the112th Congress presents a new and profound opportunity to work to address the many challenges confronting our nation's well-being.
"Despite these challenges, our state and nation possess the strength and resources to build a brighter future for coming generations. We must now have the will.
"I am humbled that the citizens of Nebraska's First District have entrusted me with this great responsibility. I look forward to continuing the important work of serving them in our nation's capital."
Fortenberry is a member of the House Agriculture and Foreign Affairs Committees. He is the Chairman of the Agriculture Subcommittee on Department Operations, Oversight, and Credit.
