I spoke to the media today about the death of Osama bin Laden, who led Al Qaeda through more than two decades of indiscriminate violence against innocent persons.

I have recorded a few additional thoughts on his death, and invite you to view them here. America and much of the world have waited for the day when Osama bin Laden would be stopped. This was an impactful day for Americans and for all of humanity.

We should also recognize the brave efforts of those military and intelligence personnel who carried out this mission. It is naïve to hope that this will end terrorist threats and violence, but for a moment we can rest with the knowledge that he can no longer kill.
