Fortenberry Commends Progress on U.S. Exports to China
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congressman Jeff Fortenberry issued the following statement regarding China’s plans to lift trade restrictions on various U.S. exports:
“This series of agreements will help American beef producers and renewable energy entrepreneurs gain access to expansive markets that were previously closed or highly restricted. Moreover, they will help America address its staggering trade imbalance with China. As we move ahead, it is critical that American businesses can be confident that the rules of new trade agreements will be regularly and consistently enforced.”
A member of the House Agriculture and Foreign Affairs Committees, Fortenberry has urged U.S. Trade Rep. Ron Kirk to prioritize the reopening of Chinese markets on behalf of Nebraska producers and American agriculture.
